Lives Improve Through Engineering & Science (LITES)
How do engineers prevent injuries by designing airbags and car seats? Or improve lives by repairing joints, limbs and organs?
LITES (Lives Improve Through Engineering & Science) is a two-week residential program created by Kettering University. LITES Introduces young women, who will complete 11th grade by July 1, 2024, to what engineers and scientists do and how they improve people's lives through math, science and technology to find solutions to human problems. Our amazing faculty teach all classes and labs. Students will also have opportunities to strike up meaningful relationships with female mentors. Important dates to remember:
Check-in: Sunday, July 14, 2024; Program begins on Monday, July 15 at 8 a.m.
Check-out: Friday, July 26, 2024 at the conclusion of the Banquet
Program Fees: $1500*
Your program fee will cover the stay in Thompson Hall, breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. All lab materials for hands-on activities during classes/workshops, all bussing and admission fees while on excursions. All evening activities with mentors. *Scholarships to attend the program may be available.
